Applying a Bumper Sticker – EASY, Removing a Bumper Sticker – NOT SO MUCH!
Applying a bumper sticker – easy. Removing a bumper sticker – not so much.
If you’ve got an unwanted sticker stuck on your bumper, we’re here to help make the removal process easy. Whether the political campaign sticker you stuck on 6 years ago is old news, your parking registration is out of date, or the colors of your stickers have faded to a point past your liking – this remedy of common household items should do the trick to make it look as if they were never there!
Things you need:
- Tree sap remover solution
- Clean rags
- Hair dryer
- Plastic card such as a credit card
- Detailing Spray
- Razor blade & Glass cleaning solution (if removing from glass)
The first course of action will be to clean your car. Starting the removal process with a clean surface area will make the job much less sticky. For a few seconds with the setting on Hot, hold a hair dryer a few inches above the sticker, but avoid getting too close. Also, pay mind to heat the edges last. Then use your plastic card to gently scrape up and under the sticker. As the edges come up you can use your fingers to slowly peel the sticker off. This sequence may need to be repeated a few times to get the sticker entirely off. IF removing from glass you can use a razor blade instead of a plastic card. It is completely normal for the sticker to break and peel off in pieces – if this occurs do not be alarmed.
Once the sticker is completely removed you can use a few drops of tree sap remover solution and a clean rag to scrub off any sticky residue left over. You can again use a razor blade for this step IF removing from glass. To finish it off, with a second clean rag use a detailing spray or glass cleaner to make your car shine like new.
And voila! Follow those easy steps to free your car from any unwanted, out of date, discolored stickers!
