2017 Nissan Rogue Sport Debuts at the Detroit Auto Show
This past January, Nissan debuted the 2017 Rogue Sport at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The Rogue Sport will rival other vehicles in the compact crossover SUV category, one of the most popular segments in the US auto industry. Arriving in dealerships this Spring, take a tour of this much anticipated SUV.
Nissan’s Rogue Sport will be a combination of the Rogue, Nissan’s crossover that is popular here in the U.S. and Nissan’s biggest seller in Europe, the smaller sized Qashqai. Nissan created the vehicle as the perfect SUV for singles, small families and empty nesters.
Smaller than the current Rogue, the Rogue Sport has a wheelbase that is 2.3 inches shorter and an overall length that is shorter by more than 12 inches. Cargo space in the Rogue Sport will be reduced to 22.9 cubic feet. The smaller size will offer a sportier look and feel.
Taking styling cues from its larger counterpart, the Rogue Sport has clean lines, a sporty profile, and the classic Nissan V-motion grille. Significant ground clearance gives the Rogue Sport an edgy look and taps into its capability. The versatile and inviting interior puts technology at your fingertips, has creative storage space, and is available with a host of premium features.
Safety is always a concern and the Rogue Sport will give you peace of mind. Nissans Intelligent Safety Shield Technologies will be available. This intuitive safety technology includes features like forward emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning, rear cross traffic alert, and around view monitor.
The Rogue Sport will be powered by a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that generates 141 horsepower and 147 lb-ft of torque. It is paired with Nissan’s Xtronic continuously variable transmission. The Rogue Sport will be available in front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive.
